The 72nd Seminar

Activity in Radiation Medicine at the IAEA

Dr. Rethy Kieth Chhem
Professor, Director of the Division of Human Health,
International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, Austria


Dr. Rethy K Chhem is a specialty of the nuclear medicine and takes an active part in IAEA in Vienna now. He was also Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology and Anthropology at the University of Western Ontario where he still holds an appointment as Adjunct Research Professor in Anthropology. Dr. Chhem serves on the Medical Council of Canada and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

The secretary-general of IAEA, Mr. Amano, is visiting Nagasaki on August 7–9. We will be discussing our future cooperation build-up with IAEA in human resource exchange and radiation medicine.

Dr. Chhem will give us introduction on IAEA’s present approach in radiation medicine and other topics - theme of great interest for those in medical education.
