GCOE International Symposium at Karasalingam University,
Republic of India entitled “Now and future of Research on Radiation Effects in India and Japan” |

Professors Naoki Matduda, Noboru Takamura (Nagasaki University) and Visiting Professor Akihiko Suyama (RERF) visited Tamir-Nadu region of the Republic of India.
They organized GCOE International Symposium entitled “Now and future of Research on Radiation Effects in India and Japan” in cooperation with Professor S. Selvasekarapandian, Kalasalingam University in Tamir-Nadu region. This symposium aimed to develop the activity of GCOE program in Asian countries. About 100 participants attended in this symposium, including researchers and postgraduate students of Kalasalingam University, as well as outstanding scientists from Mumbai, Chennai, and researchers from Kudankulam conducting the environmental monitoring around constructing nuclear power plants. In the symposium, Professors Matsuda, Takamura, Suyama and Indian outstanding speakers delivered the lecture and actively discussed with Indian participants.
Our GCOE program currently accepts researchers from India in order to promote the collaboration studies. It is expected to promote continuous collaboration studies between India, for the development of “Asian network” within a framework of this program.
