Atomic Bomb Disease Institute and Scientific Data Center
have been arranged and restarted as Atomic Bomb Disease Institute,
Nagasaki University School of Medicine in April, 1997. The
aim of this arrangement is not only to promote the basic
and the clinical radiation research, but also to develop
our research to high altitude level of molecular medicine.
And furthermore, we would join actively various international
collaborations to play a central role in the international
Hibakusha's medical care.
The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Accident occurred in 1986,
in the situation of highlighted worldwide Hibakusha We have
accepted trainees mainly form the former USSR as a part of
the project of NASHIM (Nagasaki Association for Hibakusha's
Medical Care) since 1992. However, the deficiency of appropriate
guideline of the training course and the problem of correspondence
to trainees appear to be manifested.
Therefore, we prepared this guidebook for the trainees of
our institute to have systematic lectures and to get the
fruitful results. Basic training course is for the short-staying
trainees, and the Applied course is for the long-staying
trainees and for the specialists who have curiosities about
the specified items.
This guidebooks have been prepared not only in Japanese and
in English, but also in Russian. We are planning to translate
other languages, such as Chinese. We hope that every trainees
will get the fruitful results and make use them into the
practical Hibakusha's medical care.
