Guidebook for the Trainee

Atomic Bomb Disease Institute and Scientific Data Center have been arranged and restarted as Atomic Bomb Disease Institute, Nagasaki University School of Medicine in April, 1997. The aim of this arrangement is not only to promote the basic and the clinical radiation research, but also to develop our research to high altitude level of molecular medicine. And furthermore, we would join actively various international collaborations to play a central role in the international Hibakusha's medical care.
The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Accident occurred in 1986, in the situation of highlighted worldwide Hibakusha We have accepted trainees mainly form the former USSR as a part of the project of NASHIM (Nagasaki Association for Hibakusha's Medical Care) since 1992. However, the deficiency of appropriate guideline of the training course and the problem of correspondence to trainees appear to be manifested.
Therefore, we prepared this guidebook for the trainees of our institute to have systematic lectures and to get the fruitful results. Basic training course is for the short-staying trainees, and the Applied course is for the long-staying trainees and for the specialists who have curiosities about the specified items.
This guidebooks have been prepared not only in Japanese and in English, but also in Russian. We are planning to translate other languages, such as Chinese. We hope that every trainees will get the fruitful results and make use them into the practical Hibakusha's medical care.
